Let's get this party started!
Ch 65 and join
R1 sc in each ch around, join with a sl st. careful not to twist (64)
R2 - R6 ch1, *hdcfp, hdcbp* around
and join with sl st. {These rows are ribbing}
R7 ch3 and hdc in same st (makes
first V-stitch), *skip next st, make V-stitch* around and join to ch3
with sl st. (32 V-Stitches)
R8 sl st over to first gap between
legs of V-stitch, ch 3 and hdc in same gap (makes first v-stitch of
this row), *skip next gap, make v-stitch* around and join to ch 3
with sl st.
**Repeat R8 15 times. Or until desired
slouchiness is achieved. Each row will have 32 v-stitches, no decreases at all.**
**tip--basically, you make a v-stitch inside the gap of the v-stitch on the previous round.**
Last R sc in each st around and
finish with a sl st. Leave a super long tail for sewing.
**Using a tapestry needle weave the long
tail through the sc from the last row and pull taunt to close the top
of the hat. Weave in the ends and voila**
Easy peasy.
Hi! Instructions are easy to follow! Hat looks super cute (have not made it yet xP. But plan to...)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you could post what the back looks like?
I'd appreciate it! TIA
Another question, for the V-stitch, which pattern should we follow?
ReplyDeleteStitch Explanation section says: "V-stitch: hdc, ch1, hdc," but in the written pattern: it says "ch3 and hdc in same st (makes first V-stitch)." Is the v-stitch a hdc, ch1, hdc(if so, are they all in one stitch [hdc, ch1, hdc]?) OR is it ch.3 and hdc in same stitch?
I updated the pattern, the ch3 hdc is just for the first v stitch of every row. For all other v stitches, follow stitch explanations.
